CNC Lasers 

CNC Lasers bring precision to cutting.  They are generally more precise and cleaner to use then CNC Plasma Cutters.  There are many parts that can have a hole or slot laser cut vs. a punch press operation.  Their accuracy is getting better and better all the time.  The parts also seem easier to weld on the edges compared with Plasma Cut edges. 

There aren’t many hobbyist class machines in the marketplace because of cost.  Plasma cutting still has them beat there.  Recently there has been an effort to develop home versions on the DIY CNC front.  The effort looks good and will become a more popular option over time as costs come down.
