Rhino not dimension-driven 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
My first CAD program was Pro/Engineer. I bought Rhino because it looked like a lower cost alternative to Pro/Engineer and SolidWorks. I then found out that Rhino is not dimension-driven. This means if you make a circle with a five inch diameter in Pro/E or SolidWorks, a dimension pops up, and you can change the diameter by changing the dimension. Rhino seems to use a scaling multiplier and you'll have to multiply your dimension by a number to make it smaller. If you have your dimension displayed on the circle under Rhino, you'll have to select it along with the circle and scale both of them. Otherwise your dimension will not reflect the post-scaled diameter.

Rhino is much easier to use because everything seems to be up front and nothing is hidden in a drop-down menu like Pro/E. If you have never owned a CAD program, Rhino might be right for you. If you've worked with SolidWorks or Pro/E you might find that the extra money you'll pay for either program worth the price.

Rhino does have a really good tutorial available on CD though. If they ever modify Rhino to the point that it can be driven by dimensions I might switch back.
