Newbie...Need a Machine...Please Help... 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
Dear All

I was browsing through the Internet in search of a design for a SignPost for my house when I came across CNC Machines.

I browsed through the net wanting to know more about the CNC Machines and came across CNCINFORMATION.COM site. I just finished the e-course and really am interested in getting into CNC as a hobby and also as a business.

I am a complete newbie to this and require more information and more information.

Basically I want to do all 2D, 2.5D and 3D. To be specific 2D and 2.5D to be sizes of standard 8ft by 4ft and 3D to go to a height of 2ft.

I want to work on all materials i.e. steel, wood, metal, aluminum, glass, rubber, foam, brass, softwood everything that exists today.

I need you to help me in choosing the machine first. I came across many on the internet ranging from US$ 4,000 to US$ 150,000. Chinese to German to Indian and American.

The more I search the more confused I get and not knowing what exact machine (inclusive of tools for all materials, software, accessories and everything) to buy.

Please help.

Thanks and Warm Regards

I suggest you start from a little machine, such as some 3 axis machine.
you need to buy a 3 axis cnc driver board at first. as a beginner, the rate of failure is really high, so just buy something cheap.
i had bought some good and cheap stuff from this company,www.cncgeeker.com.

that is my way.
