Hi everyone. 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
I am building my first CNC router. It's a Rockcliffe "A" model with Probotix electronics and Mach3 controller. My first "real" test was to write a 1" circle on a 2" square surface target. It appears to be a perfect circle so I am encourgaged. My goal is to use this machine to fabricate parts for a larger and more stable design. I found an interesting example on the "Instuctables" site by Stuart Macfarian. I particularly like the way the X axis is supported. It is inexpensive yet stable. I'm not sure why he did not carry the concept to the Y axis. In fact, I do not see what is holding the Y axis in place against the CCW force from the Z axis. Still - an impressive piece of work. Hope to contribute more soon.

Hello jjohansen,

Looks like you are well on your way. I would be interested in some photos of your entire setup if you get a chance.

Have a good one,
Ivan
