Hello! 9 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Hi there everyone. I'm from the West Midlands in England. I'm refurbishing a Pinnacle 3-axis mill for use on microwave and RF components. It had an old controller made by North East Electronics fitted but this has gone toes-up and been replaced with a Routout stepper controller and a PC running Mach3. I've learned a lot about computer interfacing and getting 5v logic gear to talk to 400V motors nicely and without fuss, screaming or flames. I'm surprised and delighted by the results so far, there has been a notable lack of explosions and a good deal of what I can pass off as results. in fact it's all quite enjoyable. Learning more about G-code and M-code is the next step, which I may need a bit of help with. Onwards and upwards

"there has been a notable lack of explosions" - I love it!

Sounds like you are well on the way. In fact, you seem a little more electronics oriented then me. Great to have you here. You can really help out others in that department. I seem to let the "magic smoke" out every once in a while.

Welcome!
Ivan
