Hello 8 Months, 1 Week ago

Hi,
I have been a CNC operator for about a year. For the most part, I ran a vertical mill that was 900 inches in length called the K and T. It used fanuc controls and was ancient in comparison to some of the stuff they use today. It was designed by the airforce and we milled railroad parts on it.
I recently started a new position at a different shop milling much smaller parts with more high tech equipment, doing operations I've never done before. To say I'm nervous would be an understatement.
While there is more of a learning curve on the machines I'll be operating, I think (hope) milling will be much easier than in my previous position once I get the hang of it. In the meantime, I want to learn as much as I can and destroy as little as possible.
I look forward to being part of this community.
Thanks Ned

Hang in there you'll do geat, then it will be second nature to you. I started in injection mold machines, now I work on these high frequency welders, whole diffferent world of electricity. But I think you'll do fine. Vern.

Every day at the new job I'm feeling more comfortable. Much of it looks different from what I'm used to, but it is more similar to what I know than it appears.
Thank you for the encouragement.
