z axis with 3d? 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago
If i make a 3d design for a cnc wood router. The depth of the drawing should be below 0 on z axis?
In other words the top surface of the design should be on 0 coordinate on z axis and everything else below that??

as i understand drawings don't have depth... but if your model is 3d "0" is the centre of the model and so should be machined from both sides and/or in the rotary (4th axis).
otherwise it would be a 2.5d model and machined in 3 axis xyz from the "top, but zero can be the top or bottom of your material.

So in a cad program can you draw a 3d design and specify that 0 is the bottom of your material?
So the depth is positive coordinate on z axis?
