Here is an email I got in, lets help out Derek:
Dear Ivan, I am a woodwork teacher in Belize and I need a little help, after joining your community with the purpose of looking into CNC router teaching for my school. I have been approached by local government officials and have had several discussions relating to the setting up of a small to medium scale manufacturing woodshop, to assist the local cabinet makers to upscale the quality of their products. The basic plan is to have a single shop that provides carved panels for local (country) use in their domestic cabinets and export cabinets. Also to look into the exporting of carved panels as a standalone product. Belize is blessed with over 700 species of wood and over 80 species of hard wood, Mahogany is very abundant here i.e. US$3 per board foot. Now to the problem, I need advice on which machine or machines should be considered for such a project. As you can imagine I have spent countless hours searching the internet, and the more I look the more confused I get. The starting parameters are a machine with a cutting area of approximately 4’ x 8’ and a price of around US$ 10,000. Any assistance with this would be most appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.
