need more info
what type of floppy is it? what is ment to be on it? what file type is it? what operation system is on your computer?
even if you dont know any of the the above you could still use the diskcopy function in dos to put the file on a cd then try to read from there.

ok the 3 1/2 have never been knowen for there reliabiltiy and i would say there is agood chance the disk is damaged or even wiped but haven said that any computer shop would have the abililty to recover the majority of infomation from the disk and then put it on cd which hopeully your computer will be able to read the cost is normaly about $5 but if the disk is damaged then it may be more i guess it a question of how much is the data on the disk worth to you.
the other thing to remember is that some file types are program specific meaning that you neeed a certern program to use that file.
what do you mean by it wont reconise the disk? does it show up under my computer at all when the disk is in the drive?

When i said pc don't reconise the disk i want to mean thatr pc ask me if i want to format the disk. i think the disk isnīt damage,it works fine in the machine, you are right about some specific programs need certain programs but unfortunally, I do not make the minimum idea which program that I can use.
The machine is and old cnc(1992), all the programs and subrotine have to be made by me, manually, i.e, i have to wite all the steps the macine have to do, it's very hard because,I am to give the first steps in this work, and sometimes i think understood something but next day i think know nothing.lol
bye
