oh boy... 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago  
The company i work for is getting a cnc laser cutter...should i be nervous. is any different from a 3 axis router?

Hello FallenZERO,

Exciting! It should be easier then a 3 Axis router. Generally Laser and Plasma cutters are 2 axis machines with some sort of Torch Height Control for the Z Axis. A lot of the time the Z Axis is automated so you don't worry about it.

As far as the CAD end, you only have 2D going on, so it is much simpler. Then you don't have all the different bits you have to compensate for.

Overall, much simpler in my opinion.

You shouldn't worry FallenZERO!
i am sure you are gonna be just fine!
Just keep an eye at the different machine specs and machining details.
