I got my first chance to machine a part, real simple rght? I got the cad drawing from our drafter, put in the computer,picked most of the features to simulate the part. Real easy so far one pocket one boss no biggy. On the boss there is a slot, groove, or whatever you want to call it that runs purpindicular to the boss. 1/16" radious about 3/8" long, easy right? Well when I pick the lines and pick a feature to make this slot, it puts it parallel with the boss. I can not get this to run purpindicular on the boss like it needs to.
How do I get this to work?, this is all I need to finish the part.

Well I did it, I made my first part today with our CNC at work. Nothng fancy, just a simple pocket inside an a boss, the whole part is is only 2"X 3" X 1"thick.
