Is there a program out there other than Mach3? Or is it the industry standard?

Hello Sicordg,

There are plenty of other Control Programs out there. Mach 3 is probably the "At-Home Industry Standard." I don't know of many professional shops that run it. Generally they get into Fanuc and Mazak.

Some other "At-Home" ones are:
CNC Pro
TurboCNC

Others, join in with what you use?

Have a good one,
Ivan

There are others. In my opinion, Mach is the best bang for the buck. Mach is open source so you'll find it is quicker to incorporate new functionality than some of the others. Mach has thousands of users. It is very easy to learn and very easy to get support.

Thanks for the reply....actually, I've gotten used to Mach3 and am using it. Found lazycam was not as user friendly and am using mastercam. I'm actually making profile's and a "lot of sawdust/sterofoam dust"! Does anyone out there have a g-code program for a cribbage board? I'd be interested in making one. Thanks in advance.

Hello sicordg,

I would be interested in seeing some photos if you have some. When you mentioned sawdust, you got me interested.

Have a good one,
Ivan
