Initial Machine set-up 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
My partner and I have purchased a CNC machine from Practical CNC. We have a servo router, and a 4'x8' cutting area. The machine is run with Wincnc software. We have put all together but can make only little work. We can make the X asis move left to right and the Z axis move up and down, sometimes. When we try to get the Y axis to move in the psoitive direction its like the Yleft motor ingages and trys to move but the Yright does not. This causes a bind and we abort. When we try to move in a negative direction its like the opposite happens. Yright engages but Yleft does not, a bind occurs and we abort. The table is square and level. We are both totally new to this and are almost ready to sell all and find another direction. We really do not want to do this but if we can't get help soon we are going to have no other choice. If we can get all working correctly on the machine we understand how the software works are confident we can make our projects. We just can't figure out how to get all set up. Can someone out there please help us.
