cnc router help 2 Months, 1 Week ago
hey guys nice site.. Im as new as they come to the cnc world.. I just recently bought a new cnc router from cncsidewinder.com its the 40x26 with plasma table and upgraded full size router and vacuum head.. Now on to the problem .. Im cutting carbon fiber chassie plates with amorphous diamond bits i cut a sample to send to a machinest buddy in California who made the gcode for me he said some parts of the chassis were dead on while other parts of the same piece were off .040s which is way out of spec .. I dont know what to look for to fix this problem why would some of the part be dead on and the other be off..? Im using mach3 mill through a dedicated laptop .. My buddy in calif said he had a similar problem one time with a homebuilt router and he had to adjust the gcode offset to fix it.. Right now he wants me to run the code with a aluminum sheet instead of carbon fiber to get a few more samples.. Any ideas on how to tweak the machine or tips to try to get it to cut right is greatly apprieciated ..albie
