CNC Info Quick CommandmentsHere is something like “
The Quick and Dirty Commandments for CNCInformation.com”
ShareShare your CNC Knowledge freely. Share as much as you can, whenever you can. Remember what it was like when you first got involved with CNC. Wouldn’t you have liked to have some good teachers?
Be CoolIf someone says something in a post or forum that makes you angry or disappointed. Be cool. Act cool. Most times people didn’t mean it that way. Most of us are a bit communication challenged, at least I am (my wife tells me that from time to time). Take the high road because they probably didn’t mean it.
If someone is truly a jerk and everyone knows it. Report them and a moderator will take care of the situation.
Take the TimeIf you have a question, take the time to search for your answer first. It may have already been asked and answered. Searching around a bit will also help you learn some more. People in any type of forum get annoyed when someone joins, goes directly to the forum and asked the most basic question that has been asked 1,000 times. Be polite.
If you don’t want to take the time for yourself, why do you expect others to take the time on you? Be fair to everyone and do at least a quick search first.
Get InvolvedFilling out your profile so others can know a little about you is a great way to get started. Helping others or asking questions in the forums is another good way to engage. Finally, it you really have the CNC Bug, ask to become a moderator on this site.
Be RespectfulNot everyone is a CNC Guru. Guess what, I am not a CNC Guru. I have been wrong many times in my life and I will be wrong on something in the future. If something is stated incorrectly, be respectful when you correct the other person. Don’t rub it in their face that they were wrong. Be respectful to others and they will be respectful to you. Grow the community, not your ego.
