CNC Basics E-Course 1 - Learn CNC

Video Info:

Here is the first video in the Learn CNC Basics E-Course from www.CNCInformation.com. This video outline what the e-course is and what it covers. The video also talks about the 5 steps to working with CNC. The steps are CNC Design, CAD, CAM, Control and Machineing. Every CNC project has these steps and they must be followed in that order. This gives the beginner a basic framework to hang their new CNC Information on. As the beginner learn they can think about these 5 steps and where the new information fits. The next video in the E-Course is CNC Design.

Video Transcript:

Hello, my name is Ivan irons.  I'm here today to walk you through an introduction video on our CNC E-Course.  I run a website called CNC information.com and at any time, you can go to that site and get more information.  Really, this is day one in an introductory video to the overall CNC process. Let us jump into it really, what's this E-Course about.  Well for the most part it's can be seven total days in seven different e-mails and what is to be is really a general introduction into the basic process of CNC.  It has not to get too in depth, which will talk about. It is it really a general overview to give you an idea of the various steps involved in CNC.   So what is this E-Course not.  It is just like they said it's not going to be in-depth.  We are not going to get into specific information about software or code you might have. Or maybe you have a question about a machine you've run our problem you've run into.  This E-Course is not enough address that it is really just about the overall various steps in CNC.  A number of people asked me why Ivan, why did you put this course together.  I really I wish it was around when I got into CNC.  I had to work my way through it. First, I found out about machining, then went upstream, and found out a bit about a few of the other pieces.  But really I wish this was around when I first got into this so it would give me a framework to hang various information on. Now CNC is moving from production to a hobby. At least in the United States.  There is still a lot a production going on CNC's used in manufacturing all over the United States but is really going through a change. over the last few years of this technology moving down to the hobbyist level.  This is a Haas, H A A S this is a Haas lathe production machine you make part after part want to set up a program and this is something that you would find in industry in some way shape or form.  It could be in the United States it could be overseas.  On the right-hand side, you see CNC technology used in a CNC router.  This happens to be a CNC router that I built.  You use this for; I use it for making signs.  Or various projects and kind of fun things.  But the point is this technology has gone from very guarded group in industry into your own garage. Now you can do this at home secure the five steps of five overall steps to the CNC process.  These are the steps that every single person goes through when they're doing a CNC project.  The first one up there is design your thinking and planning on what you wanted to what you want to build.  The next one is CAD, which is computer-aided design.  You are translating your design into the computers so you can manipulate it.  CAM, your converting that design into a machines language.  It is very specific to your type of machine what type of tooling you have that sort of thing.   Which will get into then it goes into controlling which really you are directing that machines motion in a very specific way or directing it in a very specific order of movement.  Finally, which a lot of people are used to is machining.  That is really building that part to its specifications.  This is the actual rubber meets the road.  We are removing material we are building parts.  It is the final step to CNC.  A lot of CNC is front and loaded and machining is really at the tail end   there is a look at that process laid out design CAD/CAM controlled machine. You cannot skip any of these steps if you are doing a CNC project. they all go together and you have to do them in that order.  That is what this E-Course is about walking through.  That order and describing each of those steps in the process. Tomorrow we go into CNC Design, which is the first step in that process. in the meantime if you're interested in any other CNC information you can go to CNC information.com.  You will also see the address there for my blog.  Type that in and you get current information on, what is going on in the world of CNC.  Thanks.

Hello Bob,

I just checked this out and it looks like the CNC Video is working correctly. Let me know if you have any other problems. Sometimes I am at the mercy of YouTube. If they do maintenance on their site, then CNC Information suffers.
