Cutting Glass by scoring it on a CNC router
My friend Ed makes wall hangings with mirror inserts. He asked me for a way to score glass so that he could cut out interesting shapes with his Shopbot. Here is the first 2 tries. We need to work on cut depth but it all looks very promising.

Solsylva home-made CNC router build, test run pocketing
This is a test run of my Solsylva cnc router build. Just floating the router over the table for now. I ran the rectangle pocketing wizard on Mach3, and set the feedrate at 150ipm. I then bumped it up all the way to 240ipm with no noticeable missed steps or stalling. I did this mainly as a stress test. There is some rattling; I have to tighten the bolts for Y gantry rail, as well as adjust the bearings. Components: Xylotex controller and 425in-oz steppers, Kerk precision leadscres, 1/2″-8, 8 start (1TPI effective), Mach3 software.
i am using mdf board on cnc router mc. when temp. & humidity go up it start bend from the corner lift 20-35mm ?
suggest the good grade of mdf with more humidity resistance

Is It Possible To Reduce The Spindle Rotation Speed On A Cnc Router Below It’s Normal Speed Range?
I’m going to be using a cnc router to flycut some MDF and I want to create a slightly rough surface. One machine I am considering buying has a spindle rotation speed range of 6,000 to 24,000 RPM. Does anyone know if it is somehow possible to set the machine to cut at a slower rate?
