I don’t see why Xenon can’t be used. It might work better because it is non oxidising so it won’t corrode the metal and a better insulator to get a hotter plasma.
Its a lot more expensive than nitrogen or shop air. If you want a *really* hot plasma then atomic hydrogen is the thing. Just add water to this baby and watch it cut.
